BIOGRAPHY


  • Theresa joined Mission College in 1993.  She has been a Mission College Counselor since 1996 and she began teaching Careers and Lifestyles (Counseling 12) in 2000.
  • In addition to her experience at Mission, Theresa has worked in the high tech sector and at San Jose State University. Theresa managed the College Recruiting program at Amdahl Corporation, where she was responsible for hiring interns and recent colleges grads from 35 universities across the nation.  Most recently she was the Engineering Career Counselor at San Jose State University.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR SJSU SPRING 2009, UPPER DIVISION TRANSFER STUDENTS


UPDATE

SJSU will soon open to undergraduate applicants for the Spring 2009 admission cycle. Because we expect to have record enrollments for this coming fall and to balance out our academic year enrollment, SJSU will significantly limit the application period for the spring term. Please advise students to apply early and meet all deadlines.


APPLICATION PERIOD

*   Applications will be accepted between Aug. 1 31, 2008 for Spring 2009 admission. SJSU closes for all undergraduate applicants at 11:59 pm PDT on Sunday, August 31, 2008.  Apply early - DO NOT wait until the last day.

*  Apply at http://www.csumentor.edu


REQUIREMENTS
Applicants MUST be fully eligible for admission as an upper division transfer student and meet the following minimum requirements:

* Complete 60 or more transferable semester units with an overall grade point    average of 2.0 or better in all transferable units attempted,

* Be in good standing at the last college or university attended,

* Complete at least 30 semester units of general education courses, graded C or better in each course, including the following four basic skills courses listed below. 

Basic skills courses must be completed by FALL 2008. (revised 8/7/08).
   
However, students will not be able to register for spring courses until grades are officially verified for these courses.   Note: Students who plan to apply for Spring 2010 must complete the four basic skills by the Summer of 2009.

     1.  One course in written communications,

     2.  One course in oral communication,

     3.  One course in critical thinking, and

     4.  One course in mathematics/quantitative reasoning.

 

DOCUMENT DEADLINES (After you have applied for admission)

The document deadlines for Spring 2009 are posted on the applicants' MySJSU accounts.  Students should monitor their admission status through MySJSU.
