Questions for Evaluating a Sales Letter
- Does the writer get the reader’s attention in the opening sentence?
- Does the writer highlight the product’s appeal?
- Does the writer show the customer the product’s application?
- Does the writer end with a specific request for acton?
- Does the writer emphasize the “You Attitude” throughout? Are the style and tone appropriate, conveying the impression that the writer is courteous, professional, easy to work with?
- Has the writer used white space and paragraphing effectively? Has the writer used an appropriate and consistent full-block format and page layout with all the necessary parts of the letter included?
- Has the writer used clear, concise, and contemporary language? Has the writer proofread effectively for grammatical, spelling, and punctuation errors?
