Questions for Evaluating an Inquiry Letter
- Has the writer got to the point right away?
- Is the letter specific concerning what the writer wants to know?
- Does the letter contain the reasons for the request?
- Does the letter specify when the writer needs the information?
- Has the writer emphasized the "You Attitude" throughout? Are the style and tone appropriate? Does the letter convey the impression that the writer is courteous, professional, easy to work with?
- Has the writer used white space and paragraphing effectively? Has the writer used an appropriate and consistent full-block format and page layout with all the necessary parts of the letter included?
- Is the language clear, concise, and contemporary? Has the writer proofread effectively for grammatical, spelling, and punctuation errors?
