Biography

Michael J. Fallon (MJF) has been a Sociology instructor at Mission College since 1997; his specialty courses are Religion and Community Service. He is a FT Community Partnerships and Program Coordinator of Service-Learning at San Jose State University where he also teaches the sociology course "Community Involvement and Personal Growth." Michael is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame (BA, Sociology), San Jose State University (Teaching Credential), and the University of San Francisco (MA, Education-Organization-Leadership). While he has been in education since 1976, he has also directed an AIDS education project for the Catholic Diocese of San Jose, and has served as community relations director with the St. Vincent de Paul Society of Santa Clara County.

Michael was born and raised in Toledo, Ohio, where his family still resides. He has lived in lived in California since 1973. Being of Irish descent, Michael authored The Definitive St. Patrick's Day Festivity Book: Enhance the celebration of the Irish in us all. Spiritual pursuits are his primary life interest (along with sports!), and in 1986-87 Michael journeyed 'round the world on pilgrimage to religious cultures. MJF loves to teach aspiring students at Mission College where he intends to teach for years to come!
