Course Description: Students will be using a text, video lectures and other online matrials covering topics of Intermediate Algebra. In addition, you will be communicating with me and the rest of the class via e-mail and Angel Discussion Forum. While this is not a truly self-paced course, it offers flexibility in that you have a minimum pace to follow in order to complete the course by the end of the semester. Should you choose to work at a faster pace, you could finish the course earlier, before the semester ends. |

On Campus Requirements: Three additional meetings for on campus exams and final exam, from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm, Mondays on 3/3, 4/14 and 5/19 in room E1-603. |
Exam Requirements and Location: Online quizzes, 2 on-campus exams and 1 final exam. |
Prerequisites: Math 903 (Elementary Algebra) |
Advisories: Strong self-motivation and good time management skills. You should spend a minimum of two hours everyday, seven days a week to succeed in this class. |
Required Books & Materials: Textbook: Loose-leaf Elementary and Intermediate Algebra by George Woodbury with MyMathLab access code ISBN: 9780321478849 ($105.00) If you already have a book, but do not have an MyMthLab access code, you must buy a MyMathLab access code ($50.00)separately also. Do not have an used book. Students must have access to a Window-based PC and access to the internet. Macintosh does not support MyMathLab. Minimum computer system requirement: Windows 2000, Windows XP, and Windows Vista ™ (Mac and Linux not supported.) Internet Explorer 6.0/7.0 (Netscape, Firefox, AOL, and other browsers not supported.) You will need to be able to receive and open Word and pdf files, some of which might be large in size. Also, a calculator with a ‘LOG’ key is required. |
