Course Description:

Students will be using a text, video lectures and other online matrials covering topics of Arithmetic Functions. In addition, you will be communicating with me and the rest of the class via e-mail and Angel Discussion Forum. While this is not a truly self-paced course, it offers flexibility in that you have a minimum pace to follow in order to complete the course by the end of the semester. Should you choose to work at a faster pace, you could finish the course earlier, before the semester ends.

Orientation Schedule:

Orientation is held on Wednesday 1/2, 5pm-7pm in room E2-502. If you miss the orientation, please contact me immediately! IF YOU'RE TRYING REGISTER FOR THIS SECTION, BUT IT IS FULL, PLEASE COME TO THE ORIENTATION AND I WILL ADD YOU.

On Campus Requirements:

Three additional meetings for on campus exams and final exam from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm, Wednesdays on 1/9, 1/16 and 1/23 in room N1-401.

Exam Requirements and Location:

Online quizzes, 2 on-campus exams and 1 final exam.

Advisories:

Strong self-motivation and good time management skills. You should spend a minimum of one hour and twenty minutes everyday, seven days a week to succeed in this class.

Required Books & Materials:

Textbook: Basic college mathematics, 8th edtion by Aufmann with Eduspace passkey ISBN: 9780547054322 If the book does not come with the Eduspace passkey, you must buy the passkey separately also. Students must have access to a PC or Mac and access to the internet. Minimum computer system requirement: Windows® 2000 or XP or Macintosh® OS 9.2, 10.1, 10.2, or 10.3 Microsoft® Internet Explorer, Version 6.0, Netscape® Navigator, Version 7.0, Firefox 1.0.7 or Safari 1.2 (with Macintosh operating systems only) You will need to be able to receive and open Word and pdf files, some of which might be large in size.
