Sociological analysis of selected contemporary social problems such as housing and homelessness, economy and employment, environment and consumerism, family and divorce, crime and drugs, politics and media, race and gender, wealth and poverty, war and peace.

Exam Requirements and Location:

All exams are conducted and completed online. Exams will also cover reading assignments, PowerPoint presentations, Forum Questions and Website Explorations. Each week or Learning Unit will have a Study Guide entitled Learning Objectives. These Exams will have a multiple-choice question format. Midterms and the final exam cannot be made up without prior approval and/or documentation of an illness or emergency.

Mooney, Knox & Schacht Understanding Social Problems, 4th edition, 2005.
